EAST OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) –
A teen was seriously injured Sunday after falling between 60 and 80 feet at a notorious cliff diving spot in East Oahu.
Officials say the 18-year-old man was taking pictures around 6 p.m. at Spitting Caves with friends when he either misstepped or jumped.
As he plummeted toward the water, he hit a rocky ledge.
Two high schoolers at the scene jumped into action and pulled the victim from the water, according to officials.
Honolulu Fire crews then airlifted the 18-year-old to a field at Kokee Park, where emergency crews began advanced life-saving measures.
The teen was stabilized and transported to the hospital in serious condition.
