We’re in for another period of wet weather that will include the potential for dangerous flash flooding conditions and thunderstorms. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH is in effect statewide through 6 a.m. Thursday. The heaviest showers Tuesday night will be along a band of moisture that’s currently stalled over Maui and the Big Island. This band may drift to the north Wednesday night, with unsettled weather possible through Thursday.
The threat of flooding and thunderstorms should diminish Friday. This will be followed by light winds and humid conditions for the weekend.
Rising surf is expected on the north and west facing shores, so a High Surf Advisory will take effect at 10 a.m. Wednesday. There is a chance the swell could reach warning levels, so stay tuned.
